KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 19: In a significant initiative to raise public awareness about the importance of voting in a democratic setup, a mega rally was organized today in the Sarthali locality of 63-Bani here under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
The rally held under the guidance of RO 63-Bani, Gias ul Haq (SDM), witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of BA 3rd and 5th semesters, who held placards and banners emphasizing the power of voting. Their messages, displayed in Hindi, English, and Urdu, included slogans such as “My Vote, My Right,” “Voting is Power,” “The Power of Vote,” and “The Ballot is Always Stronger than the Bullet.”
The event was led by the AC SVEEP Nodal Officer 63-Bani Constituency, Prof. Naseeb Kr Bhagat, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Nisha Devi and Prof. Vishab Thappa. Students voiced their support for democracy with resounding slogans, further highlighting the crucial role of voting in empowering citizens.
The rally, which commenced from the college premises and concluded at the college gate after covering the Sarthali locality, was a resounding success in spreading the message of voter participation. Prof. Bhagat expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the students and staff for their active involvement and commitment to raising awareness ahead of the upcoming voting day on 1st October 2024.
This SVEEP activity marks another step towards ensuring that every eligible citizen understands their role and responsibility in shaping the future of the country through the power of their vote. ‎
