Srinagar, Oct 16 (JKNS): Senior Superintendent of Traffic City Srinagar has issued a traffic advisory for the J&K Police Cycle Race-2026, titled “Pedal Through Paradise,” scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 18, with restrictions on the Boulevard Road and adjoining routes from 5:00 AM until the conclusion of the event.

According to the advisory issued by Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Srinagar, Bisma Qazi, IPS, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the cycle race will be conducted along two routes, from Lalit Ghat (Police Golf Course) to Nagbal Chowk via Foreshore Road, and from Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar.

To facilitate the smooth movement of cyclists, general traffic movement on Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat towards Harwan via Shalimar and from Lalit Ghat towards Pandach Crossing via Zakoora will remain restricted during the event.

Motorists travelling from Harwan and New Theed towards other destinations have been advised to use the alternate route via Burzahama, Chandpora, Tailbal, Zakoora, Malbagh, Illahibagh and 90 Feet Road, and vice versa.

Similarly, motorists coming from Ganderbal and Nagbal towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the 90 Feet Soura Road and vice versa.

The advisory states that no traffic will be allowed from R.M. Bagh Crossing towards Lalit, except for participants. Traffic will also remain restricted from Badyari towards Lalit Crossing, while movement from Dalgate to Nishat via Badyari towards Rainawari will not be permitted. Similarly, traffic from Nishat towards Lal Chowk via Brien Police Station Crossing will remain restricted.

However, medical emergencies and motorists travelling to Srinagar Airport will be allowed to proceed via the Foreshore-Dargah-Khanyar Road.

The Traffic Police has urged the public to avoid unnecessary movement on Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat towards Harwan via Shalimar and towards Pandach via Zakoora, particularly from 5:00 AM until the conclusion of the event.

Parking facilities for participants and visitors will be available at Golf Course, Barista, Zabarwan Park and Nehru Park up to Lalit Crossing.

For assistance, citizens can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at helpline number 103.

The Traffic Police has regretted any inconvenience caused to the general public and urged motorists to plan their journeys accordingly. (JKNS)
