A delegation of 14 media professionals from Jammu & Kashmir, led by Tariq Rather, Deputy Director of PIB Srinagar, visited the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) in Vidyanagar today as part of their five-day media tour in Telangana.

The visit aimed to enhance understanding of skill development initiatives in the region and foster collaboration between Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana. The team was warmly received by Smt. Priyanka Srinivasan, Deputy Director of NSTI (W), along with students from the institute, who showcased their enthusiasm for sharing insights into their training programs.

During her address, Smt. Priyanka highlighted the importance of NSTI as a premier institution operated by the Directorate General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. She elaborated on the institute’s mission to provide high-quality vocational training aligned with industry demands and to support aspiring entrepreneurs in becoming self-reliant.

The presentation covered a wide range of courses designed to meet the needs of various sectors, including Fashion Design and Technology, Cosmetology, Architectural Draughtsmanship, and Information Technology. Smt. Priyanka emphasized the institute’s commitment to equipping students with the skills necessary to thrive in a competitive job market.

Moreover, she introduced new-age training programs such as remotely piloted aircraft drone piloting and drone technician courses, which are tailored to address the evolving demands of modern industries. These courses not only prepare students for employment but also promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

Following the presentation, the media delegation toured the institute’s state-of-the-art training labs, where they observed practical demonstrations and interacted with students and faculty. The journalists engaged in discussions about the facilities and resources available to students, gaining insights into the hands-on training methods employed at NSTI.

The visit concluded with a networking session, where journalists shared their experiences and discussed potential stories that could highlight the skill development initiatives in both Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana. Varganti Gayathri, Media Communication Officer from PIB Hyderabad, accompanied the delegation, facilitating discussions and ensuring effective communication throughout the tour.

This visit marks a significant step towards enhancing media collaboration and promoting the importance of skill development in both regions, ultimately contributing to the broader goal of economic growth and employment generation.
