POONCH, OCTOBER 13: In a significant move towards enhancing infrastructure in the Poonch district, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal conducted an on-site inspection of the Bufliaz Mandi Phagla road project today. This inspection underscores the government’s commitment to improving road connectivity in far-flung areas, which is vital for the socio-economic development of the region.

The Bufliaz Mandi Phagla road, spanning 63 kilometers, is a crucial project under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). During the visit, the Executive Engineer of PMGSY provided a comprehensive overview of the ongoing work. It was reported that substantial progress has been made, with a significant portion of the road already completed. The remaining sections are expected to be finished within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring that the local population can soon benefit from improved access and connectivity.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of adhering to specified guidelines throughout the project’s execution. He stated that it is essential to maintain the highest standards of engineering to ensure the durability and safety of the infrastructure. “Quality should never be compromised,” he remarked, highlighting that any lapse could lead to future complications and increased maintenance costs.

Kundal further urged the PMGSY authorities to expedite the work process. He recognized that timely completion of such projects is critical for the residents of Poonch, who rely on these roads for transportation, trade, and access to essential services. The improvement in road connectivity will not only facilitate easier movement but will also promote economic activities in the region, thereby uplifting the local communities.

To ensure that the project remains on track, the Deputy Commissioner instructed for regular monitoring of its progress. He stressed that special attention should be given to the quality of work being carried out. This proactive approach aims to mitigate any potential delays or issues that may arise during construction.

Accompanying the Deputy Commissioner during this inspection were other officials from the PMGSY, who engaged in discussions about the challenges faced in executing such large-scale projects in hilly terrains. They shared insights into the methodologies being employed to overcome obstacles, particularly regarding weather conditions and logistical challenges.

The Bufliaz Mandi Phagla road project is part of a broader initiative by the government to enhance rural infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. Improved road networks are seen as a catalyst for development, enabling better access to markets, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.

Residents of Poonch have expressed their enthusiasm for the project, recognizing its potential to transform their daily lives. Many have voiced their hopes that the new road will lead to increased economic opportunities and improved living standards.

As the inspection concluded, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal reiterated area commitment to ensuring that all developmental projects in Poonch are executed efficiently and effectively. His hands-on approach reflects a growing trend among local officials to engage directly with infrastructural developments, fostering transparency and accountability in public works.

In summary, the ongoing work on the Bufliaz Mandi Phagla road represents a crucial step towards enhancing connectivity in Poonch. With continued oversight and dedication from local authorities, this project is poised to make a lasting impact on the community it serves.
