Addressing a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store in Oslo, as per news agency JKNS, PM Modi thanked the people and government of Norway for the warm welcome and said he looked forward to extending greetings to them on the occasion of their Constitution Day.

“I am thankful for the grand welcome. Tomorrow, on Norway’s Constitution Day, I will congratulate the people of Norway,” PM Modi said.

Explaining the reason behind the delay in his visit, the Prime Minister stated, “I couldn’t come to Norway earlier because of Pahalgam.”

He further said that during the difficult time following the terror attack, Norway stood firmly with India and extended strong support against terrorism, which reflected the depth of bilateral friendship.

PM Modi’s visit marks a significant milestone in India–Norway relations, as it is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Scandinavian country in 43 years.

The two leaders are expected to hold wide-ranging discussions on strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing cooperation in trade, clean energy, innovation and maritime partnerships. (JKNS)
