India Backs Greater Role for Women in UN Peacekeeping, Says Rajnath Singh

NEW DELHI – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated today that India is a strong supporter of women’s participation and integration into United Nations peacekeeping missions. Speaking in New Delhi during an interaction with women military officers from the United Nations, Mr. Singh highlighted the country’s commitment to advancing gender equality on a global scale.

According to reports, He affirmed that the government is strengthening its domestic policy to encourage women’s participation in India’s own armed forces and peacekeeping contingents, with the goal of ensuring they have an equal opportunity to lead and serve.
