Nitin Gadkari Highlights Significant Developments in J&K Highway Construction

SRINAGAR – Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has revealed that over the last four years, the Ministry has approved 43 highway development and upgradation projects in Jammu & Kashmir. These projects cover approximately 653 kilometres of road length and have a total estimated cost of over ₹27,800 crore, reports said.

Gadkari emphasized that National Highway development is a continuous process driven by factors such as traffic density, connectivity needs, and strategic priorities. He stated that pending proposals are being reviewed and prioritized in coordination with the PM Gati Shakti framework to ensure phased and efficient development. These investments are poised to significantly enhance connectivity, boost tourism, and stimulate economic growth in the region. (ATP)
