A total of 75 students successfully completed the five-week vocational training programme, which included Basic Computer, Plumber General Course, and Assistant Electrician Course. The initiative was organised to equip local youth with practical skills, enhance their employability, and encourage self-reliance through skill development.

The programme was chaired by Shri Sanjay Kumar, Second-in-Command, 181 Battalion CRPF, Radar Station, Charar-e-Sharief. Among those present were Shri Hasnain Raza Khan, Assistant Commandant; Inspector Vijay Kumar, Subedar Major; Inspector Rajendra Kumar; Inspector Manoj Kumar, Company Commander, A/181 Battalion CRPF, Hardapanzoo; Sub-Inspector Ghulam Mohammad of Police Chowki Hardapanzoo; and Sheen Kausar, Cultural Coordinator, Education Zone Hardapanzoo. Officials from the Education Department and the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), teachers, students, parents, and local residents also attended the ceremony.

Certificates were presented to all successful trainees in recognition of their successful completion of the vocational courses.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sanjay Kumar congratulated the students and encouraged them to make effective use of the skills they had acquired. He said the CRPF has been continuously organising vocational training and community outreach programmes across Jammu and Kashmir to empower young people and strengthen community participation.

He noted that, besides skill development initiatives, the CRPF has organised several free medical camps in Hardapanzoo and other remote areas, providing medical consultations, medicines, and healthcare advice to local residents.

Highlighting the importance of vocational education, Shri Sanjay Kumar said that nearly 45 CRPF units deployed across the Kashmir Valley are implementing similar programmes to prepare youth for future employment. With government job opportunities becoming increasingly limited, he stressed the need to equip young people with practical and market-oriented skills so they can become self-reliant, create sustainable livelihoods, and even emerge as successful entrepreneurs.

He further observed that the overall situation in the region has improved considerably and expressed satisfaction over the growing participation of youth in developmental activities and various government welfare schemes. Appreciating the cooperation extended by the Principal and staff of Government Higher Secondary School, Hardapanzoo, he assured that the CRPF would continue supporting young people through career guidance, counselling, vocational training, and community welfare initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, one of the students described the programme as “a great opportunity” for local youth, stating that the training had equipped participants with valuable practical skills that would improve their employment prospects. The student also thanked the CRPF for providing quality vocational training free of cost.

Local residents, parents, and participants appreciated the efforts of the CRPF in organising the Civil Action Programme. They said the initiative had created valuable opportunities for local youth to develop employable skills and become self-reliant. They expressed hope that the CRPF would continue organising similar skill development, educational, and community welfare programmes in the future. (JKNS)
