Jammu, Jun 20 (JKNS): An unidentified male was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Khor Deonian village of Miran Sahib area in Jammu on Saturday, prompting police to initiate legal proceedings and launch an investigation into the incident.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS said, Today, on 20/06/2026, at about 1430 hrs, reliable sources reported that an unidentified male dead body was found at Village Khor Deonian, Miran Sahib.

As per available information, the deceased was a beggar who frequently sought alms from local residents and was reportedly a habitual consumer of alcohol.

Upon receipt of the information, Police Station Miran Sahib immediately took cognizance of the matter and initiated the necessary legal proceedings. The dead body has been taken into police custody and shifted to GMCH Jammu for medico-legal formalities and identification.

Further investigation is in progress and additional details are awaited. (JKNS)
