Srinagar, Jun 15 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday flagged off the Free Breast Cancer Screening Seva at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, aimed at expanding access to early detection and awareness services for women in remote areas of Kashmir.
As per news agency JKNS, The initiative is being supported under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of the Airports Authority of India and is being implemented by India Turns Pink.
The programme will provide free breast cancer screening and awareness services to women living in far-flung areas of the Valley, with a focus on promoting early diagnosis and timely treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, women’s health awareness and community outreach in improving public health outcomes.
The event was also attended by Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani.
The initiative is expected to strengthen healthcare access for women and encourage greater awareness about breast cancer screening across the region. (JKNS)
