Srinagar, July 31 (JKNS): Two non-local labourers were killed in a terrorist attack in the Kilam area of Kulgam district on Friday evening, officials said.
A senior J&K Police officer told news agency JKNS that the deceased have been identified as Deepak, a resident of Chhattisgarh, and Bopinder, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the officer, Deepak died on the spot after terrorists opened fire on the duo, while Bopinder sustained critical injuries.
Bopinder was immediately shifted to a hospital, where he later succumbed despite medical efforts.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a massive search operation to track down the terrorists responsible.
Further investigation into the incident is underway. (JKNS)
