Srinagar, July 23 (JKNS): A 59-year-old woman lost her life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near JVC Hospital, Bemina in Srinagar on Thursday, officials said.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred near JVC Hospital, where an unidentified vehicle struck the woman and fled from the spot.
The deceased was identified as Jameela Bano (59), wife of Ali Mohammad Rather, a resident of Kanih Gund, Budgam.
She was rushed to JVC Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared her brought dead on arrival, the officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and launched an investigation to identify the vehicle involved and ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident. (JKNS)
