In a press statement, the President of the Bar Association Beerwah, Advocate Bilal Ahmad Rather, expressed deep concern over the extensive damage caused by the floods, stating that homes, shops, agricultural land, crops, and the livelihoods of hundreds of people have been severely affected.

He emphasized that special attention should be given to the affected shopkeepers, farmers, and families who have suffered heavy financial losses. He said the rehabilitation process must begin without delay so that the victims can rebuild their lives with dignity and return to normalcy.

The Bar Association Beerwah also called upon the Government to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the losses and ensure that fair, adequate, and timely compensation is provided to every eligible victim.

The Association expressed hope that the Government would respond promptly to the humanitarian needs of the affected population and take all necessary measures for their relief, rehabilitation, and recovery. (JKNS)
