Srinagar, Jun 13 (JKNS): An Iran-based Kashmiri religious cleric and socio-political analyst, has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the killing of innocent people in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) by the Pakistani government and its security forces.

In a statement, the young seminary scholar Moulana Shaykh Waseem Reza Kashmiri said, “I strongly condemn the ongoing human rights violations and the use of force by the Pakistani government against the people of PoK, especially at a time when it is failing to address their legitimate economic and political demands.”

He added, “Pakistan is killing innocent civilians, and the world must not remain a mute spectator. We urge UN, human rights organizations and the international community to take serious note of these atrocities and demand accountability.

Meanwhile, the Government of India should raise its voice and use its diplomatic channels to expose the human rights abuses committed by the Pakistani state in so-called Azad Kashmir.” (JKNS)
