Six 1995-Batch IPS Officers Elevated to Special DG, Special Director Ranks

New Delhi, Sept 3 (JKNS): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of six senior 1995-batch IPS officers to the posts of Special Director General (Spl. DG) and Special Director in the Central Armed Police Forces and Intelligence Bureau.

The approval was conveyed through an order issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Department of Personnel and Training, on September 3, 2026, with reference to the Ministry of Home Affairs Office Memorandum dated August 12, 2026, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS.

As per the order, Sandeep Khirwar, IPS (HY:1995), presently ADG, CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General, CRPF in Level-16 of the pay matrix. His appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge and continue until his superannuation on May 31, 2033, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Puneet Rastogi, IPS (TR:1995), ADG, BSF, has been appointed as Special Director General, BSF in Level-16. His tenure will run from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation on June 30, 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Satish Shriramaji Khandare, IPS (AGMUT:1995), ADG, BSF, has also been appointed as Special Director General, BSF in Level-16. The appointment involves restoration of the temporarily downgraded Special DG post and will continue until his superannuation on June 30, 2031, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Padmakar S Ranipse, IPS (OD:1995), ADG, CISF, has been appointed as Special Director General in CISF on an in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post held by him to Level-16. The appointment will continue until his superannuation on May 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Rajesh Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:1995), ADG, CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General in CRPF on an in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading his existing post. The appointment is for two years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Meanwhile, Jag Mohan, IPS (BH:1995), Addl. Director, Intelligence Bureau, has been appointed as Special Director, IB in Level-16. His appointment will continue until his superannuation on June 30, 2031, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The order has been issued by Annies Kanmani Joy, Director, Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. (JKNS)
