Srinagar, May 30 (JKNS): The Attestation-cum-Passing Out Parade of the 7th batch of Agniveers comprising 538 recruits was conducted with full military tradition and grandeur at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regimental Centre in Srinagar.

According to details available with news agency JKNS, the parade marked the successful completion of 24 weeks of rigorous military training by the 538 Agniveers, who will now join various units of the Indian Army.

General Officer Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P.K. Mishra reviewed the parade and addressed the passing out Agniveers and their families on the occasion.

Congratulating the Agniveers, Lt Gen Mishra as per JKNS said, they were now becoming part of the proud and distinguished JAK LI Regiment after successfully undergoing demanding training.

He reminded them that the regiment’s ethos is not only about sacrificing life for the nation but also about living a life dedicated to service, honour and duty.

“You are fortunate to become part of an Army whose history of bravery, sacrifice and patriotism is written in golden letters. The Indian Army is not merely a force guarding the nation’s borders but also a symbol of trust, security and hope for the people of the country,” he said.

The Corps Commander highlighted the vital role played by the Indian Army in safeguarding the nation during wars, counter-terror operations, natural disasters and other challenges, stating that the Army remains the first line of hope and support for the country in difficult times.

Addressing the newly inducted soldiers, Lt Gen Mishra said that from this day onwards they would not only wear the uniform and rank of the Army but also carry the aspirations and trust of millions of Indians. He expressed confidence that their courage, determination and perseverance would inspire future generations.

He urged the Agniveers to uphold the glorious traditions of the Indian Army and take forward its rich legacy to greater heights through dedication, discipline and professionalism.

The GOC also acknowledged the contribution of the families of the Agniveers, thanking them for supporting and encouraging their children to join the Indian Army.

Concluding his address, Lt Gen Mishra prayed for the bright future, good health and successful military careers of the Agniveers and extended his best wishes to all the passing out recruits.

The ceremony was attended by senior Army officers, family members of the Agniveers and other dignitaries who witnessed the proud moment as the recruits formally joined the ranks of the Indian Army. (JKNS)
