Major Anti-Drug Action in Srinagar: 7 Medical Shops Sealed for Violating Narcotics Norms

Srinagar, May 11 (JKNS): In a major crackdown against the illegal sale and misuse of narcotic and psychotropic substances, Srinagar Police on Sunday sealed seven medical shops during extensive inspections conducted in Lal Bazar, Zakoora and Hazratbal areas under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.

As per news agency JKNS, Continuing its intensified drive against the misuse and illegal sale of narcotic and psychotropic substances under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 100-Day Campaign, Srinagar Police, in close coordination with the Drug & Food Control Department, conducted extensive inspections across the Sub-Division Zakoora-Hazratbal and Lal Bazar areas.

During the inspection drive, several medical shops were found violating prescribed norms, including non-maintenance of sale and purchase records of NRX drugs, failure to maintain computerized billing systems, violation of psychotropic substance protocols, and other irregularities related to pharmaceutical regulations.

As part of the drive, Police Station Lal Bazar along with officials of the Drug Department sealed the following establishments in Lal Bazar area, Jan Aushadhi Centre, Botashah Mohalla Lal Bazar, run by Zubair Ahmad Reshi R/o Handwara for violation of Jan Aushadhi norms. Mirza Medicate, Baghwanpora, owned by Mirza Nazir Ahmad, for failing to maintain sale and purchase records of narcotic and psychotropic medicines.

Qayoom Medicate, Baghwanpora Lal Bazar, owned by Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, for failing to maintain sale and purchase records of narcotic and psychotropic medicines. (JKNS)
