The joint exercise is being conducted under the framework of Chapter VII of the United Nations Mandate and is focused on joint planning and execution of coordinated tactical operations in a sub-conventional, semi-urban environment. The training is aligned with the contemporary dynamics of counter-terrorism and peacekeeping operations, wherein both contingents are undertaking a combination of Command Post Exercise, Field Training Exercise and specialised skill-based training. The emphasis is on developing common understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures, while exchanging best practices and operational experiences gained during operations against hostile forces.

As part of the ongoing training, troops of both nations are carrying out practical drills in firing, tactical drone employment, urban operations, mortar drills, sniper training, combat first aid and disaster relief operations. The exercise also includes familiarisation with new generation weapons and equipment, including drones and unmanned aerial systems, enabling both contingents to refine operational responses in complex semi-urban scenarios. Specialised training in sniper tactics, mortar employment, drone warfare and combat casualty management is further contributing towards greater battlefield coordination and mission readiness.

CINBAX-II 2026 is not only a platform for military training but also a reflection of the growing defence cooperation between India and Cambodia. The exercise will further strengthen bilateral military relations, foster mutual cooperation, enhance cultural understanding and contribute towards shared preparedness in addressing regional and global security challenges. Through such joint training engagements, both armies continue to reinforce their commitment towards maintaining peace, stability and security under the United Nations framework. (JKNS)
