Srinagar, Apr 7 (JKNS): In a major anti-terror success, Jammu and Kashmir Police busted an interstate Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module in Srinagar, arresting five persons, including two Pakistani terrorists, officials sources said.

Official sources privy to investigations told news agency JKNS that the operation is part of an intensified crackdown on terror networks, with J&K Police expanding its operations beyond the Union Territory and launching coordinated action in Punjab with the support of central agencies.

Sources said the breakthrough was achieved on the basis of specific intelligence inputs and digital intercepts indicating the presence of a wider Lashkar network operating outside J&K.

Investigations are currently underway to establish possible links with local support systems and to uncover the full extent of the module.

Sources privy to development told JKNS that, “19 location have been searched by J&K police including in Haryana and Pubjab.”

Sources said preliminary investigations suggest that a foreign terrorist was able to travel outside the country using forged documents and a fake identity, with assistance from the Lashkar-e-Taiba network operating in other states.

Further details can only be shared when the investigation is complete, sources said, “Further details will be shared once the ongoing operation reaches a conclusive stage.” (JKNS)
