Forest Department’s Plantation Drive in Lashtial Kalaroos Sees Enthusiastic Participation from Students and Locals

Kupwara: (JKNS) The Forest Department, Kamraj Division Zangli, today organized a special plantation drive at Compartment 96NL in Lashtial Kalaroos, where a variety of saplings were planted.

The program was led by DFO Kamraj, Owais Ahmad Mir. Range Officer North Lolab, Riyaz Ahmad, along with other officials of the Forest Department, were also present on the occasion. Students and teachers from Middle School Lashtial, as well as local residents, actively participated and contributed to the plantation efforts.

The students took part in the drive with great enthusiasm, while teachers educated them about the importance of trees and their conservation. Emphasis was also laid on spreading awareness regarding environmental protection.

Speaking to the media at the conclusion of the event, DFO Kamraj Owais Ahmad Mir highlighted the importance of forest conservation. He emphasized that forests not only help maintain ecological balance but also provide clean air and play a vital role in mitigating climate change.

He appealed to the public to plant more trees and ensure their protection, stressing that collective efforts are essential for safeguarding the environment.(JKNS)
