Srinagar, Apr 5 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has urged External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to facilitate the urgent repatriation of the mortal remains of a Kashmiri youth who died in Saudi Arabia.

In a letter addressed to Minister for External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar as per news agency JKNS, the Jammu & Kashmir Students Association writes to you with profound grief and deep sorrow to inform you about the untimely demise of a Kashmiri youth, Bilal Manzoor Ganie (Passport No. W9092248), son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Chountiwari, Sogam, Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

 

Bilal had been working in Saudi Arabia for the past one and a half years, where he was employed as a nursing assistant at Aaba International Hospital while also pursuing his professional aspirations in the healthcare sector. On 4th April 2026, he tragically suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was rushed to Aaba International Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

 

His sudden and untimely demise has sent shockwaves across his native village and adjoining areas of Lolab Kupwara. He was widely regarded as a dedicated, hardworking, and compassionate young individual, whose loss has left his family and community devastated and in deep mourning.

 

In light of this unfortunate and tragic incident, the bereaved family wishes to bring back his mortal remains to his homeland to perform the last rites in accordance with their cultural and religious traditions.

 

In this regard, we humbly request your kind and urgent intervention to direct the concerned authorities, including the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and relevant local authorities, to facilitate the expeditious repatriation of the mortal remains of Bilal Manzoor Ganie to India.

 

The Jammu & Kashmir Students Association fully understands that there are procedural requirements and legal formalities involved in such cases, including documentation, clearances, and coordination with local authorities in Saudi Arabia. We assure you of our complete cooperation in fulfilling all such requirements without any delay. We are ready to extend every possible assistance, including coordination with the family, local contacts, hospital authorities, and the concerned diplomatic missions, to ensure that the process is carried out swiftly, smoothly, and with due dignity.

 

Given the emotional and psychological distress faced by the bereaved family, we earnestly request that the process be expedited on humanitarian grounds so that the family may have the opportunity to see their loved one for the last time and perform the final rites in accordance with their customs and traditions.

 

We earnestly seek your immediate assistance in this matter. Your timely intervention will not only help in bringing the deceased back to his homeland but will also provide immense solace and closure to his grieving family during this extremely difficult time.

 

Details for reference: The deceased has been identified as Bilal Manzoor Ganie (Passport No: W9092248, Aadhaar No: 449862494385, Visa No: 6139759348).

He is the son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie and a resident of Chountiwari, Sogam, Lolab Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, India.

In Saudi Arabia, he was working as a Nursing Assistant at Aaba International Hospital.
