Srinagar, Apr 5 (JKNS): Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, JKAS, along with Special Secretary School Education Department G R Mir, on Sunday conducted a joint review of school infrastructure and ongoing construction works, stressing strict on-site monitoring, accountability and availability of basic facilities across schools in Kashmir.

Naseer Wani (JKAS), in presence of the Special Secretary, School Education Department, Mr.G R Mir, as per news agency JKNS, chaired a joint review meeting on school infrastructure and construction works at the Directorate’s Conference Hall.

 

The meeting was attended by Chief Education Officers (CEOs), Principals and other senior officers, while Personnel Officer DSEK, Dr Iqbal Hussain Mir, was also present.

 

The review focused on the ground-level status of ongoing works, with clear directions to officers to personally verify and monitor construction activities in their respective institutions Emphasis was laid on ensuring that schools are equipped with functional washrooms and safe drinking water facilities, reflecting the department’s commitment towards providing a safe and dignified environment for students.

 

Earlier, the Director conducted a virtual inspection of schools in far-flung areas of the Valley from his office chamber, where the Special Secretary was also present. During the interaction with students, classroom teaching and learning levels were assessed.

 

The Director stressed that regular inspections by Zonal Education Officers are essential to make the teaching-learning process more effective and fruitful, adding that he will personally visit various zones to review teaching practices and learning standards, particularly in lower classes.

 

The Special Secretary, G R Mir, underscored the importance of close supervision and accountability at every level, calling for focused attention on both infrastructure and academic functioning.

 

The meeting concluded with a strong message for field officers to remain actively engaged in monitoring institutions, ensuring that both infrastructure and classroom delivery meet the desired standards across Kashmir. (JKNS)
