Sources told news agency JKNS said, two major sewerage and drainage projects were approved for Kathua and Pampore with a combined outlay of ₹68 crore. The projects are designed to streamline waste management by linking residential outlets to Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), with Kathua’s plan extending up to Lakhanpur and Pampore’s covering the entire town.

The Cabinet also approved the setting up of a Grid Station at Hajin in Bandipora district to strengthen the power distribution network in the area.

To address traffic and connectivity challenges, the Cabinet gave nod to key bridge projects, including the Rajbagh Flyover in Srinagar, estimated at ₹144.36 crore, and a bridge at Gujhama in Ganderbal district.

In the health and judicial sectors, around 60 posts each were sanctioned for Bone and Joint Hospitals and courts, aimed at improving patient care and judicial efficiency.

Additionally, the Cabinet cleared the Appropriation Bills for the financial years 2025-26 and 2026-27, which are set to be presented in the Legislative Assembly.

Sources said further proposals, including those related to Jal Jeevan Mission Phase-II, may be considered in upcoming Cabinet meetings. All approvals remain subject to the concurrence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. (JKNS)
