A local shopkeeper said, “The clock stopped working two days ago, but no repair work has been taken up so far. It is disappointing as it is an important symbol of the city.”

A passerby also expressed concern, saying, “We used to hear its bell every hour, but now it has gone silent. Authorities should fix it at the earliest.”

Locals have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to restore the functioning of the historic clock tower, which remains a key landmark in the heart of Srinagar. (JKNS)
