New Delhi, Mar 24 (JKNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that India is actively pursuing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and cessation of hostilities amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, while urging the nation to stay united and prepared for prolonged global challenges.

Addressing the Lok Sabha, as per news agency JKNS, the Prime Minister said India has engaged with key leaders in the region, appealing for restraint and an early resolution to the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy. He stressed that attacks on civilians, commercial vessels, and critical global trade routes such as the Strait of Hormuz are unacceptable.

Modi said the government is taking comprehensive measures to minimise the impact of the crisis on citizens, particularly in sectors like energy, fertilisers, and national security. He added that India’s diversified energy strategy and strengthened reserves have helped cushion the effects of global disruptions.

Highlighting security concerns, he said all agencies have been put on alert and surveillance has been intensified across coastal, border, cyber, and strategic domains to counter any emerging threats.

The Prime Minister also urged states to act against hoarding, black-marketing, and misinformation, calling for vigilance and cooperation at all levels.

Expressing confidence in the country’s resilience, Modi said India will overcome the current crisis just as it successfully tackled the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that unity remains the nation’s greatest strength. (JKNS)
