Sources said top officials including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Home Secretary Chandraker Bharti, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and senior police and intelligence officers participated in the meeting and briefed the Home Secretary on the prevailing situation.

During the deliberations, emphasis was laid on heightened vigilance at key tourist locations to ensure that peaceful conditions are maintained and public confidence remains intact. Authorities are anticipating increased tourist footfall in the coming weeks due to improving weather and end of examination season.

The Home Secretary also reviewed ongoing anti-terror operations, directing forces to step up action in forested and hilly areas, particularly in upper reaches where terrorist movement tends to increase after snow melt.

Sources added that a joint strategy involving Army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Special Operations Group (SOG) is being implemented to neutralise threats and dismantle terror networks operating in difficult terrains.

Apart from security, the financial position of Jammu and Kashmir Police for the current fiscal and its requirements for 2026–27 were also reviewed, with focus on further strengthening and modernisation of the force.

The Home Secretary called for sustained coordination among all agencies and proactive monitoring to ensure peace, stability, and a secure environment for both residents and visitors. (JKNS)
