Sopore, Mar 18 (JKNS): A 5-day Orientation Programme on Vocational Education for School Heads concluded at Boys Hr Sec School Sopore, focusing on integrating vocational education into academics to enhance student employability.

The programme, attended by School Heads from District Baramulla and District Kupwara, was graced by Chief Guest Javid Ahmad Banday, Assistant Professor, JKSCERT Central, and Guests of Honor Mr. Irshad Ahmad Shah, Wing Head, SCERT JK, and Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Dar, Sr. Academic Officer & Warden Ustaad Gar, SCERT Central.

Resource persons highlighted the benefits of vocational education under NEP 2020, emphasizing hands-on training, local entrepreneurship, and industry linkages to make education more relevant to students’ future careers. Javid Ahmad Banday stressed adapting the policy to meet local needs, focusing on skill development and employability.

Mohd Rafi Bhat, Coordinator of the programme, spoke about the importance of vocational education in schools, stating it would enhance students’ skills and employability.The programme was coordinated by Bhat, with Syed Rashid, Naieem Ahmad Rather, Suraya Majeed, and Dr.Sufeena as Liaison Officers.

Govt Boys Hr Sec Sopore Principal G N Sumje welcomed the dignitaries. School Heads expressed gratitude to the SCERT Sgr team for organising the programme, committing to implement vocational education strategies in their schools.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to all Heads of Institutions, marking the successful completion of the orientation programme. (JKNS)
