Jammu, Mar 18 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday joined the sacred Aarti at Raghunath Temple and called upon people to organise daily or weekly evening Aartis across towns and villages along riverbanks in Jammu Division, saying such spiritual practices can awaken society, strengthen cultural roots and inspire the younger generation to reconnect with the timeless values of India’s spiritual heritage.

As per news agency JKNS, Sinha called upon the people to organise daily or weekly evening aartis in the towns and villages nestled along the riverbanks of Jammu Division in collaboration with the local communities.

“I urge people to organise daily or weekly evening Aartis in towns and villages settled along the riverbanks in Jammu Division. Light kindled by Aarti’s lamps will awaken the society towards our profound rich culture and connect young generation with timeless verses of our holy scriptures,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor attended Shri Raghunath Ji’s Jammu Aarti organized by ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti Sanstha’. He expressed his gratitude to the organisers and observed that this unique Jammu Arti performed by devoted men and women today, embodies India’s timeless reverence for Nari Shakti and Ardhanarishvar, while invoking divine blessings upon every living soul.

“I strongly believe the evening Aarti is the discipline of the soul. It is a conscious and awakened effort to inspire the society to look at the source of our existence and be grateful,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor also stated that every flame that rises in the aarti is an offering of absolute devotion, every prayer is a dialogue with the infinite and every moment spent is a step towards inner journey

“In this rapidly changing world, amid the relentless pace of life, we need a meditative moment to remind ourselves about the greatest treasure that exists within us. I believe that Jammu Aarti provides an opportunity to every section of society to rediscover this priceless inner wealth,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor observed that efforts are being made to present the beautiful city of Jammu also famously known as city of temples, as a global center of spirituality and a prominent destination on the map of spiritual tourism.

“Through the Jammu Aarti in the sacred precincts of the Raghunath Temple, devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi and Baba Amarnath arriving from across the country and abroad will get the opportunity to truly experience the spiritual radiance of this holy land and the local economy too shall find renewed momentum,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He also observed that such rites and gatherings are perhaps the only means through which true self-realization becomes possible and younger generation gets an opportunity to understand and imbibe the values of spiritual legacy.

“Youth must realize that they have inherited a precious legacy. It is not an inheritance of wealth or position, but of an inner treasure,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
