Anantnag, Mar 18 (JKNS): The District Administration Anantnag has established a district-level control room to monitor and curb hoarding and black-marketing of petroleum products, including LPG, and other essential commodities.

According to an order issued by the Office of the District Magistrate Anantnag a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the control room has been set up in pursuance of Government Order No. 19-JK (FCS&CA) of 2026 dated March 16.

The control room will function round the clock to ensure effective monitoring, reporting and coordination related to availability, distribution and supply chain management of petroleum products and essential commodities.

A team of officers and officials has been constituted for the purpose, including Assistant Director Food Malik Muzaffar Ahmad, I/C Supplies Reyaz Ahmad Bhat, SDRF personnel and other staff members.

The order states that the control room will maintain centralized monitoring, compile reports and submit them to the divisional-level control room, besides disseminating directions received from higher authorities.

Authorities have also issued a helpline number 01932-227112 for the public to seek information regarding availability of LPG, petroleum products and essential commodities, and for timely redressal of grievances.

The administration said the initiative aims to strengthen enforcement and ensure smooth availability of essential supplies across the district. (JKNS)
