Jammu Schools May Introduce Mandatory Daily Newspaper Reading for Students

Jammu, Mar 12 (KNC): The Directorate of School Education, Jammu has sought feedback from all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of the Jammu Division on a proposal to make daily newspaper reading mandatory in government schools.

In a communique issued to the CEOs, the Directorate of school education Jammu a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, referred to a representation received from the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) regarding the initiative.

The move, if implemented, aims to encourage students to stay updated with current affairs and improve reading habits, while strengthening awareness about national and regional developments.

The Deputy Director (E&S), Directorate of School Education, Jammu has emphasized timely feedback from all concerned officers to facilitate further consideration by the administrative department. (JKNS)
