Anantnag, Feb 15 (JKNS): A minor boy was killed in a road accident in the Rain Chowgund locality of Verinag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.
Officials told news agency JKNS that a Tata Mobile (JK03N-3472) struck the boy, identified as Numan Khursheed Itoo (12), son of Khursheed Ahmad Itoo, a resident of Chowgund Verinag.
Following the incident, the injured child was rushed to PHC Verinag for medical attention, however, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
The driver is said to have fled the scene soon after the accident. Police have registered a case and started further investigation into the matter. (JKNS)
