PM Modi Welcomes Reduction in Tariff on ‘Made in India’ Products After Call With US President

New Delhi, Feb 2 (JKNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said he had a “wonderful” conversation with United States President Donald Trump, during which a major boost to India-US trade ties was announced with a reduction in tariff on Made in India products.

In a post on X, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Prime Minister said he was delighted that Made in India products will now attract a reduced tariff of 18 per cent, and thanked President Trump on behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India for the decision.

“When two large economies and the world’s largest democracies work together, it benefits our people and unlocks immense opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation,” the Prime Minister wrote.

PM Modi also said that President Trump’s leadership is vital for global peace, stability and prosperity, adding that India fully supports efforts aimed at peace.

He expressed confidence that the India-US partnership will reach new heights in the times ahead. (JKNS)
