SSP Tanushree, Shabir Nawab Among 33 J&K Police Personnel Awarded Gallantry Medals on Republic Day 2026

Srinagar, Jan 25 (JKNS): A large number of Jammu and Kashmir Police officers and personnel have been awarded the Medal for Gallantry (GM) and Bars to Gallantry Medal on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, in recognition of their exceptional courage, bravery and devotion to duty.

According to the official list as per news agency JKNS, Deputy Superintendent of Police Javaid Ahmad Lone, Inspector Younis Khan, Assistant Sub-Inspector Davinder Kumar (First Bar to GM), Head Constable Shabeer Ahmad Narwaroo, SgCTs Rakesh Kumar and Rattan Lal, and Constable Vicky Khajuria have been awarded the Gallantry Medal.

Senior IPS officer Ms Tanushree, Senior Superintendent of Police, has been awarded the First Bar to Gallantry Medal, while Constable Mohammad Saleem Dar has also received the First Bar to GM for his continued acts of bravery.

Among other awardees are Inspector Reyaz Ahmad, Deputy Superintendent of Police Javaid Ahmad Lone (Third Bar to GM), Inspector Younis Khan (First Bar to GM), Head Constable Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, SgCT Safeer Lone, Constable Umar Nazir, and SgCT Abdul Rashid Lone, all of whom have been decorated for gallant service.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shabir Nawab has also been awarded the Gallantry Medal, along with Head Constable Mohammad Shafi Magray, Constable Mohd Ramzan Rather, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ajit Dhar, Head Constable Ravi Kumar, SgCT Abid Ali Dar, and Constable Sohail Ahmad Dar.

The list further includes Constable Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Head Constable Malik Bashir-ud-Din, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohd Ashrif (First Bar to GM), Head Constable Sunil Raina, Constable Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal (Third Bar to GM), and SgCT Abdul Rouf Wani (First Bar to GM).

The Gallantry Medals have been conferred in recognition of acts of exceptional courage, professional excellence and unwavering commitment to safeguarding public order and national security in Jammu and Kashmir. —(JKNS)
