Srinagar, Dec 7 (JKNS): Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport witnessed continues disruptions this morning, with several cancellations and delays reported due to operational issues.

An official at Srinagar Airport told news agency JKNS that as of 0900 hours, a total of 38 flight movements were scheduled for the day 19 arrivals and 19 departures.

Of these, IndiGo Airlines accounted for 20 movements (10 arrivals and 10 departures). The official confirmed that four IndiGo flights (2 arrivals and 2 departures) were cancelled.

“No cancellations have been reported from other airlines,” the official said. Additionally, two IndiGo flights (1 arrival and 1 departure) experienced delays, official added.

Airport authorities advised passengers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for updated schedules.

Reports indicate that the disruptions are linked to IndiGo’s compliance-related adjustments under the latest DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) safety directives, along with crew availability issues, which have triggered delays and cancellations at multiple airports nationwide this week.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Saturday issued a stringent 24-hour show-cause notice to IndiGo Airlines after major flight disruptions in recent days left thousands of passengers facing severe inconvenience and distress. (JKNS)
