Srinagar, Dec 6 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday expressed serious concern over the growing distress among JKAS aspirants, saying the combination of severe travel disruptions and stalled decisions at Lok Bhavan has placed candidates under immense pressure just days before the Prelims examination.

Aspirants across J&K say the situation has become unmanageable, with flight delays, cancellations, and weather-linked disruptions coinciding with lingering uncertainty over age-relaxation approval factors that have collectively shaken their confidence ahead of the high-stakes exam.

In a post on X, the Office of the J&K Chief Minister, as per news agency JKNS, said the CM highlighted the “deep inconvenience” caused by continuous airline issues, which have disrupted travel for candidates travelling from different regions of the UT and outside.

He also underscored that the prolonged delay at Lok Bhavan in clearing the age-relaxation proposal something granted in multiple previous cycles has intensified aspirants’ anxiety, leaving them uncertain about their eligibility at the eleventh hour.

Thousands of candidates are now grappling with rising stress as both travel uncertainty and the unresolved age-relaxation decision converge. Many say they are unable to focus on last-minute preparation while worrying whether they will reach their centres or even be considered eligible. The dual pressure has left aspirants mentally drained and confused at a critical time.

Students further note that the absence of timely communication regarding age relaxation has caused widespread panic, particularly for those nearing the upper age limit. Combined with the ongoing travel disruptions, they say the delay has placed them in an “unfair and unequal” position. Many are urging JKPSC to consider a short postponement to ensure a fair opportunity for all candidates. (JKNS)
