Rajouri, Sep 13 (JKNS): Two minor sisters died after being bitten by a snake at Manma Barmari village in Kalakote subdivision of Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS that the sisters were sleeping in a room along with other family members when a snake appeared on the bed and bit both of them.
The sisters were immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment, where they succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased have been identified as 5-year-old Amiba, and 3-year-old Amiza, both residents of Rajouri.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation. (JKNS)
