Srinagar, Nov 24 (JKNS): Day 3 of the 3rd Edition CRPF Cup 2025 witnessed high-octane cricket action, with teams putting up spectacular performances across four venues. Enthusiastic fans thronged the grounds to witness exciting contests as the tournament edges closer to the knockout stages.

Mirz Cricket Club scored 139/9 in their 20 overs against Young Stars XI at Sher-e-Kashmir Ground A. Young Stars XI chased the target successfully, reaching 140/6 in 18.4 overs, winning by 4 wickets. Zahoor Sofi of Young Stars XI was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance, scoring 27 runs and taking 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs.

At SP College, Shahzaib Cricket Club posted 120/8 in 20 overs, but Diamond Cricket Club chased down the target in just 11.2 overs, finishing at 124/3 to win by 7 wickets. Tawseef Nabi’s spell of 3 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs earned him the Man of the Match award.

Sky Breezers Sumbal scored 178/5 in 20 overs at Sher-e-Kashmir Ground B, but Mirz Cricket Club chased the target in just 15.1 overs, finishing at 182/3 to win by 7 wickets. Majid Hassan’s brilliant knock of 73 runs off 42 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes, earned him the Man of the Match award.

Red Lines Nunnar managed 124/10 in 18.2 overs against The Real Sultan Sumerbugh at Sher-e-Kashmir Ground A. The Real Sultan Sumerbugh chased the total, ending at 128/8 in 19.1 overs to win by 2 wickets. Arsalan Shafi, who scored 5 runs and took 3 crucial wickets, was adjudged Man of the Match.

At Kashmir University, Murrad 7th Street Srinagar scored 181/5 in 20 overs against Kashmir University, who were bowled out for 104 in 17.4 overs, handing Murrad 7th Street Srinagar a 77-run victory. Irfan Mir’s all-round display of 78 runs and 4 wickets earned him the Man of the Match award.

Batwara Sports Club scored a massive 216/7 in 20 overs at Sher-e-Kashmir Ground B and bowled out Kashmir Warriors for just 51 runs in 11.3 overs, winning by 165 runs. Imran Majeed’s performance of 14 runs and 4 wickets was named Man of the Match.

Buraq Cricket Club was bowled out for 101 in 18.5 overs against Royal Spartans Wathoora at SP College. Royal Spartans Wathoora chased the target easily, finishing at 102/3 in 11.1 overs to win by 7 wickets. Sammeer Amin’s 70-run innings off 38 balls earned him the Man of the Match award.

Bariya Cricket Club Krakpora posted 108/10 in 14.5 overs against MLA Gymkhana Budgam at Kashmir University. MLA Gymkhana Budgam chased the target with 109/5 in 11 overs, winning by 5 wickets. Imtiyaz Lefty’s all-round performance of 49 runs and 4 wickets earned him the Man of the Match award.

Man of the Match winners were awarded Rs. 3,000 each for their exemplary performances. The CRPF appreciated the skill and sportsmanship displayed by all participants, as anticipation builds for the upcoming league stage matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals on November 26, 2025. (JKNS)
