India Sets Up 24×7 Helpline for Families of Umrah Pilgrims Killed in Madinah Accident

Srinagar, Nov 17 (JKNS): India has established a round-the-clock helpline after a tragic bus accident near Madinah in Saudi Arabia claimed the lives of multiple Umrah pilgrims late last night.

In a statement as per news agency JKNS, issued by Indian Consulate in Jeddah, a 24×7 Control Room has been activated to assist families and coordinate relief efforts. The helpline numbers issued are 8002440003 (Toll-Free), 00966122614093, 00966126614276, and 00966556122301 (WhatsApp).

Officials said the Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are in constant touch with the Saudi Haj and Umrah Ministry, local authorities, and the concerned Umrah operators to gather details and extend all possible support.

They added that teams from the Consulate, assisted by Indian community volunteers, are stationed at various hospitals and sites linked to the incident to monitor the situation and provide help where needed.

Authorities further said coordination has also been established with officials in Telangana to facilitate communication with the families of the affected pilgrims. (JKNS)
