Awantipora, Oct 13 (JKNS):Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, Awantipora Police have arrested two persons involved in drug peddling and recovered a quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
Police Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, During naka checking at Kaigam Crossing, a police party from Police Post Toll Plaza, headed by SI Ishfaq Ahmad (Incharge Police Post), intercepted a vehicle and arrested two individuals identified as, Zahid Ahmad Sheikh, S/o Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, R/o Hamdania Colony, Bemina and Mehraj Ahmad Ragga, S/o Mohd Yousuf Ragga, R/o Hamdania Colony, Bemina.
Upon search, approximately 65 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from their possession. The arrested persons were travelling in a Taveera vehicle bearing registration number RJ14TB-6291, which has been seized for further investigation, it reads.
In this regard, Case FIR No. 213/2025 under Sections 8/20-29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora, and further investigation has been initiated, reads the statement. (JKNS)
