In an official notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, JKPSC, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, it was reiterated that the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination-2024, notified via Notification No. 04-PSC(DR-P) of 2024 dated 26.07.2024, is scheduled for February 23, 2025.

The notification directs candidates to reach the examination venue at least two hours before the start of the first session (GS-I) by 08:00 AM and one hour before the second session (GS-II) by 01:00 PM.

It further instructs aspirants to carry their admit card and a valid proof of identity, such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, or Passport. Additionally, candidates are prohibited from bringing mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, headphones, Bluetooth devices, or any unauthorized/incriminating materials inside the examination center.

Earlier, JKPSC Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary had told JKNS, “Dates have been scheduled. We don’t have time; it is not possible to change the date, and all arrangements have been finalized. Now students have the choice to appear for one exam in which they are comfortable.”

His remarks drawn criticism from aspirants, who argue that the government should not force them to choose between two crucial exams.

With the issuance of the official notice, speculation regarding the postponement of the exam has come to an end. However, many students continue to urge authorities for rescheduling, fearing a tough choice between JKPSC and AFCAT. (JKNS)
