KATHUA, SEP 2: In continuation to the drive launched by district police against Thieves/Theft cases, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Ms. Deepika- IPS has solved a theft case by arresting 03 thieves and recovered Stolen “Copper Wire” weighs approx. 163 kg alongwith cash amount Rs. 19,750/- from the offenders who were involved in the offence in the limits of P/S Rajbagh.
On 25-08-2024 a complaint was received at PP Marheen, regarding a burglary at three shops (one Electrical and two medical Shops) in the area in which on intervening night of 25/08/2024 few unknown persons( thieves) broke the shutters and stole approximately 02 Quintals of Copper wire and some cash.In this regard a Case FIR No. 186/2024 U/S 331(4)/305/3(5)/317/BNS registered at PS Rajbagh.Acting swiftly, a joint team of SHO PS Rajbagh and IC PP Marheen, under the supervision of SDPO Border, launched a search operation for the unknown accused.With the help of technical assistance/surviellance said police team also visualized CCTV footage and within 24 hours, all the three accused were arrested namely: 1. Shahdin, S/O Isham Din, R/O Baghechak, T/D Kathua, 2. Rashid, S/O Lt Munnu, R/O Majeetha, Amritsar 3. Bunty Lal, S/O Darshan Lal, R/O Baghechak and recovered 01 Quintal and 63 kilograms (approx.163 kg Copper wire )alongwith cash amount of Rs. 19,750/ from them and further investigation is underway.
Moreover, it is pertinent to mention here that these accused persons were also found to be involved in other theft cases in Kathua and Samba districts.
Kathua Police is putting all strong efforts to take stern action against the offenders/Thieves.
