Srinagar, Feb 26 :- Moderate rains and snow is likely in Jammu and Kashmir from March 01.

A meteorological department official told the that from 26-27th Feb, there is possibility of light Rain/Snow at scattered places during tonight to 27th forenoon.

He said that on 28th Feb, there is possibility of partly cloudy with Light snow over isolated higher reaches while on 29th Feb, there will be partly to generally cloudy with possibility of Light Rain/Snow at scattered places.

He added that from ist-3rd March, there is possibility of moderate Rain/Snow at most places with heavy to very heavy Rain/Snow at few middle & higher reaches during 1st March (late evening/night) to 3rd March(Afternoon).

He added that few places may experience thunder/Lightning/Hailstorm accompained by gusty winds during 1st & 2nd March.

“In view of heavy to very heavy snowfall over few middle and Higher reaches, Travellers/Tourists are advised to plan accordingly and follow admin/Traffic police advisory.

General public over hilly areas are advised not to venture in Avalanche prone areas & slopy areas. (Follow avalanche warnings & advisories)

Officials said that there are chances of Landslides/Mudslides and shooting stones at few places.

“Farmers are advised to withheld irrigation and other farm operations during 1st week of March.” He added.(KS)
