Srinagar, Oct 10 (JKNS): The Meteorological department Srinagar, on Saturday said that Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness brief spells of light rain, with light snowfall over higher reaches at scattered to many places, while generally dry weather is expected to prevail during most days till October 22.

 

Director MET Centre Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad as per news agency JKNS said, a brief spell of light rain, with light snow over higher reaches, is expected at scattered to many places on October 10, while the weather is likely to remain generally dry on October 11 and 12.

 

The forecast further states that generally cloudy weather is expected on October 13 and 14, with light rain, light snow over higher reaches, thunder and gusty winds likely at many places.

 

On October 15 and 16, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, with a brief spell of light rain at a few places, while generally dry weather is likely to prevail from October 17 to 22.

 

Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, as per news agency JKNS, advised farmers to continue harvesting and ensure the safe storage of harvested apples and paddy.

 

He also cautioned that thunderstorms and gusty winds are possible on October 10 and October 13-14.

 

The advisory has been issued by MET Centre Srinagar in view of the expected weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
