Orthopaedics Department of District Hospital (DH) Kulgam successfully conducted spine surgery on a 30 year old male who had sustained spine trauma due to fall from height.
The patient had L1 bust fracture with bony fragments compressing the spinal cord. D12_L2 instrumented stabilization with decompression at L1 was done. The patient is recovering well after the surgery.
Under the Logistic support of Medical Superintendent, Dr Gulzar Ahmad; Consultant Orthopedics, Dr Towseef Ahmad Bhat conducted the surgery with able assistance by Dr Aabid Hussain and Dr Khursheed Ahmad.
Anesthesia team included Dr Anees, Dr Nuzhat and Dr Shafkat and support staff included Gh Mohi U Din, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Farooq Ahmad, Farooq Ahmad (c arm tech).
