District Election Office Srinagar conducts Voter Sensitization Camps under SVEEP

SRINAGAR APRIL 28:- In connection with ongoing Special Summary Revision 2023, the District Election Office, Srinagar today organized number of Special Voter Sensitization Camps as part of its voter literacy programme under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme.  The Camps were held on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also the District Election Officer(DEO) in compliance to the instructions of Election Commission of India under the supervision of Electoral  Registration Officers(EROs) and dedicated Assistant Electoral Registration Officers(AEROs) at various Educational Institutions including Kashmir University, Degree Colleges, Polytechnic Colleges, Women’s Polytechnic, ITIs, Coaching Centres and other Professional Institutions.   During the Camps, the AEROs and DLMTs educated students about the value of their registration in the Electoral Rolls.  Special focus was laid on the registration of all eligible prospective electors by or before 6th May 2023.  The  efforts of the District Election Machinery was widely acclaimed by the student community and a large number of students were provided different forms related  to the ongoing SSR-2023 for registering their claims.  The endeavour continues for tomorrow’s Special Camp as well to maximize the registration of all eligible electors in District Srinagar.
