Hands over sanction letters to local beneficiaries for establishing income generating units
SRINAGAR DECEMBER 28:- In its endeavour to bring administration at the door steps of the people as a part of Public Outreach Programme, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Panzinara area in the outskirts of Srinagar District and presided over a Public Grievance Redressal cum Awareness Camp under Weekly Block Diwas initiative.
The Public Grievance Redressal camp witnessed large participation of people from Panzinara-A, Panzinara-B, Mujgund and other adjoining areas of Shalteng Tehsil of Srinagar District during which local DDC members, PRI representatives, public delegations and scores of individuals projected various issues and demands before the DC particularly the long pending issue arising out of jurisdictional dispute with Baramulla and Bandipora Districts.
Besides, they also demanded for macadamization of inner roads, augmentation of health centre, water and power supply infrastructure, provision of bank ATM facility and playground for local youth and other issues related to old age pension, Revenue documents. After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp. He assured the people of Panzinara and other adjoining areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority particularly with regard to jurisdictional issues. The DC also gave on the spot direction to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
While highlighting the developmental works taken up in Panzinara since the last Public Grievance Redressal Camp was held a few months ago, the Deputy Commissioner said that works to the tune of Rs 2.50 crore have been executed under Area Development Plan. Similarly, 71 development works were taken up under the Rural Development sector at a cost of Rs 1.60 crore to uplift socio-economic conditions of people living in rural areas.
In addition, work for development of road from Mujgund to Panzinara via Ranbirgarh has been taken up under PMGSY to provide better road connectivity to the people. On the occasion, the DC also handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries of the area for establishment of income generating units including Sheep units. Later, the DC inspected several developmental works being carried out in the area including development of road from Mujgund to Panzinara via Ranbirgrah taken up under PMGSY at a cost of Rs 5.63 crore to provide better road connectivity to the people. On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the pace of work on the vital project to ensure its timely completion. Besides, the members of District Development Council and local PRI members, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildar Shalteng, District Health Officer, Block Development Officer, Lead District Manager and other District Officers and Engineers were also present on the occasion.
