On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed, a massive anti encroachment drive was held at Chitibandi, Chaliwan areas of Bandipora district during which 190 kanals of encroached land was retrieved.
The evicted land was handed over to concerned Sarpanch and Lumberdar to protect the land from encroachment. The general public appreciated the move and expressed satisfaction for eviction of the land.
The Deputy Commissioner said that land evicted shall be used for developmental purposes as and when required. He urged the public to voluntarily surrender the encroached land and sought cooperation of the general public in its action against encroachments.
He also warned of strict action under rules in matters of encroachment on State/Kahcharie lands.
