BUDGAM, DECEMBER 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today chaired Block Diwas at Panchayat Halqa Shumnag in Block Surasyar.
On the occasion, local PRIs, President local Auqaf Committee, elders, youth and respected from village Shumnag, Mukam, Dhimbal, Dadompura and other villages raised their demands with the DC. Among others, SDM Chadoora, Prince Noorul Hamid, Engineers from various engineering wings, BDO and other district officers and officials attended the programme. Speaking on the occasion, DC impressed for speedy completion of developmental works in the area.
He stressed on concerned that work on road projects be taken up for early execution and ensure better connectivity to the local population. In order to ensure better educational facilities the DC instructed concerned to identify a patch of land for the construction of a school building. PHE authorities were instructed to ensure speedy completion of all going JJM works and smooth functioning of all existing water pipelines, reservoirs and filtration plants in the area to ensure smooth supply of potable water to locals.
Administration informed locals about various schemes, especially the onetime PDD amnesty scheme and urged consumers to avail benefits under it. PDD Executive Engineer said that all improvements works in the HT, LT lines including shifting of public utilities shall be carried out on priority in the area.
Sheep Husbandry and Animal Husbandry departments were directed to ensure all facilities including timely vaccination of livestock and conduct mega awareness camps in the area. He also said that a joint camp by Agriculture, Revenue and other departments shall conduct registration cum awareness for locals to register them under different welfare schemes in Shumnag area.
DC gave instructions for better connectivity and asked concerned R&B authorities to conduct survey for construction of Arampora- Mukam Road including preparing of estimations on Bridge construction over Shaliganga Nallah and macadimization of various roads including Kanir- Shumnag and other main and links roads. DC urged locals to register for Sehat cards to avail health insurance benefits up to Rs. 5 lakh, besides registration under PM Kissan.
