Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT) a constituent college of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora celebrated its 6th Annual Day at IUST campus on Wednesday.
On the eve of its 6th Annual day, a one-day seminar on Research Methodology was organised by SMMCN&MT. During the seminar, various students presented their research work, which was judged by the jury composing of Prof. Lily Want, Dean Outreach and Dr. Anisa Jan, Dean of Students, IUST. The jury later suggested the researchers with their valuable remarks.
While speaking on the occasion Registrar IUST, Prof. Naseer Iqbal said, nursing is a noble profession and its practitioners were at the forefront during the pandemic. He further stated, “IUST provides adequate facilities for nursing students in terms of infrastructure although there is always the scope to improve for the best.”
Ms. Asmat Parveen, Principal SMMCN&MT gave an overview of the achievements of the college and highlighted the importance of research in nursing profession. She said, “Our Alumni are working in the reputed hospitals worldwide who serve as assets to our society.” She further added that the nursing profession is a life-saving profession who embraces every patient irrespective of color, caste, creed, gender and religion.
The seminar also saw two book releases titled Simplified Anatomy and Physiology by Prof.Manju Chhugani and Adult Health Nursing by Dr.Sukhpal Kaur.
The event concluded with felicitation awards to the meritorious students and research interns of the SMMCN&MT.
