Indian Army organised first ever 10 kms all women trek in the Machhal Bowl to bolster women empowerment. The trek was conducted at a nearby mountainous feature in the the vicinity of Machhal village.
The event was an endeavour under Project Sadhbhavana to inspire young girls of Machhal to break the shackles of hesitation and develop self-reliance. Girls from villages of Machhal, Pushwari, Dabpal and Katwar volunteered to participate in this trek. The arduous route of the trek was completed by every participant and they enjoyed the refreshments enroute.
The event helped to plant seeds of new hope, optimism and confidence in the young girls of the Machhal which will eventually empower women and help the society to acknowledge not only the role of women but also their responsibility for the greater good.
